Asaba-A two-week-old baby boy has been reportedly stolen from the mother.

The incident occurred,  weekend, at Jesse in Delta State while the mother was sleeping beside the baby in her room.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, who confirmed the incident to Vanguard said   investigation had commenced into the theft of the baby.

Also, a 60-year-old bakery operator in Abraka, identified as Isaiah Orogun, allegedly fell into the baking machine while he was operating it and was crushed to death.

Muka said: “One Endurance Sunday, female, of Esiri Road by Ejere Grammar School, Jesse, reported about 0255 hours that while she was sleeping with her two weeks old baby boy with other relations in the house, unknown thieves passed through the window and stole the child at about 0010 hours.

No arrest has been made yet. But we are investigating.”

On the dead baker, Muka said: “The scene has been visited and corpse deposited in Ufuoma mortuary Abraka.”
