Flying Eagles Coach, John Obuh has admitted that Nigeria were not organised in attack, during their 1-0 round of 16 victory over England in Armenia, Columbia on Wednesday night.

A solitary strike by Edafe Egbedi in the 52nd minute, was enough for Nigeria to book a quarterfinal date with France on Sunday but speaking with fifa.com after the game, the Nigerian coach was frank enough to concede that his players created more problems for themselves against an English side, lacking the cutting edge in attack.

He also admitted that but for the goal by Egbedi, that his team could have been licking their wounds had England taken the  chances that came their way in the second half.

“The game was difficult for my players and we did not play as an attacking team. I expected them to play in an organised way but they were trying to attack without any real danger. The only thing that worked for us was the goal, which was enough to go through. It would have been a different story if our opponents converted their chances”, said the former Golden Eaglets coach

Noting that England’s preference to play a defensive formation caused problems for the Flying Eagles, Coach Obuh promised to ring in the changes ahead of the potentially cracking quarterfinal match against France in the Colombian city of Cali.

“Our opponents played a defensive game and they were launching counter attacks. We caused problems for ourselves, and for the next game we must correct the mistakes that we made”, said Obuh, who wore a Colombian hat, for special effects, a fact that was not lost on him.

“The hat is good. I am enjoying this country and hope that my players would make our stay here a memorable and eventful one”, he said.
