Ondo PDP reconciles warring members

AKURE—AFTER over five months of internal wrangling over the choice of ministerial nominees, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, has resolved to work together to reclaim its lost position in the state.

It will be recalled that a former Senator and member of the Board of Trustees, Dr Bode Olajumoke was the first to initiate a peace talk.

However, as a follow up to Olajumoke’s initiative, the National Legal Adviser of the Party, Chief Olusola Oke, called another meeting in Akure.

At the meeting were chieftains of the party such as immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, his Deputy Omolade Oluwateru, Chairman of the party in the state, Dr. Tayo Dairo; Former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Taofeek Abdulsalam, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe, another former Speaker, Adekanye Olambitan, and the former Chairman of OSOPADEC, Chief Adewale Omojuwa.

Briefing newsmen after meeting, Oke said leaders of other groups within the party who could not attend the meeting sent their representatives.

Oke listed such leaders as immediate past Defence Minister, Prince Tokunbo Kayode, SAN; Ambassador Olu Agbi; Chief Tayo Alasoadura; and Senator Bode Olajumoke.
