The MTN Foundation in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity, an NGO, has built 100 units of two bedroom flats worth over N117 million in Abuja. The project is part of the company’s corporate responsibility program.
National Director, Habitat for Humanity, Mr. Ezekiel Ojo who led the management of the Christian NGO to the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Amal Pepple in Abuja, said the body is committed to catering for social housing for the low income masses and the poor in the city.
The housing project which is ready for dedication according to was financed by MTN Foundation as part of its cooperative Social responsibility program. The Foundation doled out N117million to the NGO was the project.
“The money covered the cost of land, buildings, electricity supply, three boreholes, water supply reticulation, drainages, landscaping and earth road within the estate, he said.
“Habitat for Humanity was able to achieve all these with the N117 million. The revolving fund generated from the estate is what we have used to construct the additional units that are ready for the Minister to dedicate,” e said, adding that “as a Christian NGO, we dedicate all our buildings”
