Jonathan appoints new DG for NPC

ABUJA – President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed Mr. Jamin Dora Zubema as the new Director General of the National Population Commission, NPC.

Before his appointment, Zubema was the Director of Vital Registration and Acting Director General of the commission.

He succeeded Dr. Nwokoma Donald Nwokoma who retired from service on May 17, 2011.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, while announcing the development via a letter to the commission in Abuja, said the appointment took effect from August 12, 2011.

Born in Hyema-Mollah in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Zubema holds a diploma in Mathematics from  Ahmedu Bello University, Zaria, a Master of Science, MSc, degree in Economic Planning Cybernetics from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania, and a post-graduate diploma in Population and Development from the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum, India.
