BENIN – THE Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District of Edo State, Deacon Domingo Obende, weekend, described as laughable allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the last elections, Alhaji Yisa Braimoh, that he forged his school certificate to enable him run for the election.
He said that the court will vindicate him.
Senator Obende, who broke his silence on the forgery allegation levelled against him by his predecessor during a thanksgiving service on his election victory at Igarra, Edo State, alleged that Alhaji Braimoh abused court processes by instituting two similar cases in Abuja and Benin, saying “his action was a sign of desperation, which “will lead him nowhere.”
He said: “I learnt they said I forged my certificate. Some people said I did not go to school. I was born a Muslim. My Islamic name is Saliu and my other name is Domingo.
“My mother had twins and I am the Alaba after the twins. When I got baptised, I was christened John. So what is their problem?”
