The Planning Committee of the 21st Quadrangular Games, to be hosted by the Lagos Country Club in November, has announced HotSports, a foremost sports marketing and production company, as the marketing consultants for the annual games.
At the MoU signing ceremony held in Lagos over the weekend, Pharm. Akin Soyoye, Chairman of the Planning Committee for the games, explained that the choice of HotSports as the marketing consultants was informed by the impressive record of the company in sports marketing and production.
“HotSports has distinguished itself and made its mark in the areas of sports packaging, marketing and production. This is why we are partnering with the company to make a success of the games,” Soyoye said.
According to Soyoye, Lagos Country Club is aiming at hosting a world class tournament and would therefore require the support and commitment of corporate sponsors and expressed confidence that the marketing consultants would help actualise that objective.
He urged sports enthusiasts to look forward to a wonderful championship. “This year’s edition will be unique in the sense that, for the first time in history of the championship, it will be featuring children games,” Soyoye announced.
In his remark, Mr Taye Ige, Managing Director, HotSports International, pledged his company’s commitment to the success of the games.
“We are ready to put everything into it to ensure the success of the games. We also want to assure the host of the games that it will be a commercial success too,” Ige said.
The Quadrangular Games is a week-long event held on a rotational basis among four major clubs in Lagos – Lagos Country Club, Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos Lawn Tennis Club and Apapa Club. The primary objective of the games, which started in 1990, is to promote values for social and business networking, friendship and sportsmanship, among the participating clubs.
It involves several games, including Tennis, Swimming, Badminton, Snooker, Table Tennis, Chess, Taekwondo and Dart.
