AKURE—A former Senior Special Assistant to immediate past Governor of Ondo State Dr Olusegun Agagu, Mr Bode Obolo, was reportedly murdered Thursday by suspected killers in Lagos.

The late Obolo was the Special Assistant to the former governor on Multilateral Relations.

Speaking with newsmen in Akure Thursday, his younger brother, Idowu Obolo, said the deceased arrived the country during the week after two years of political exile and was to visit his family in Okitipupa before he met his untimely death.

According to Idowu, the suspected assassins numbering about eight jumped the fence and broke into the house to sniff life out of his brother.

Idowu said: “When they entered the house, the assailants repeatedly asked for his elder brother who hid in one of the rooms.
The assassins later discovered the hideout of the deceased and shot him in the abdomen and on his right leg. He was later rushed to a nearby hospital where he breathed his last.”

Report said friends and family members besieged his house on Erinje Road  at Oktipupa to commiserate with the widow.
The deceased who was involved in the alleged operation of secret account discovered by the new administration in the state after the exit of Dr Agagu, was banned from holding political office for 10 years by State House of Assembly.

He declined invitation by the House of Assembly to clear his name on the alleged scam only to flee the country.
