BY TONY EDIKE

ENUGU—WIDOWS of retired workers of Nigerian Railway Corporation, Eastern District, have appealed to wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan, to intervene and stop  the harassment and  maltreatment they are being subjected to by officials of the corporation.

The widows made the appeal in Enugu, weekend, after  authorities of the corporation forcefully ejected some of them from their quarters without payment of entitlement and arrears of salaries owed their late husbands’ some of who died in active service or were compulsorily retired.

The aggrieved widows whose family members have been rendered homeless on account of the forceful ejection, urged Mrs Jonathan and Federal Ministry of Transport to stop the corporation from  harassing them in the staff quarters that were officially allocated to their husbands pending the settlement of their outstanding  entitlements.
