ECWA sets up visitation panel to reposition varsity


Jos—In apparent resolve to tackle problems facing the institution, proprietor of Bingham University, Karu, The Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, weekend constituted a 19-member visitation panel to evaluate  achievements and challenges being faced by the university since its take off.

ECWA President and Visitor to the university, Rev. Anthony Farinto said this was geared towards repositioning the institution for greater heights.

He said while inaugurating the visitation panel that the step was in line with the law governing universities which requires periodic review of their activities to ensure compliance with the objectives of establishing them.

Farinto listed the panel’s terms of reference to include; a review of achievements and challenges of the university vis-a-vis stated objectives, goals, mission statement in the last five years; review of progress of structural and infrastructural development; review of fund raising strategies, staff recruitment, training and welfare.

Others include security of the campus; academic programmes and progress of the library; students enrollment and welfare, spiritual welfare and oversight of the staff and students and a report on the recent crisis in the institution and ways of preventing a recurrence.
