By Victor Ahiuma-Young

Anioma indigenes in the United States of America, under the aegis of Anioma Association in America, have called on the Delta State House of Assembly to come up with legislation that will promote peace, socio-economic and infrastructural transforma-tion of the state.

The group also appealed to Anioma people not to waver in their determination to produce the next governor of the state come 2015, arguing it was not negotiable.

In a congratulatory message to the Speaker of the state Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochie, the group challenged members of the Assembly to chart a new legislative course for the speedy development of the state.

President of the Association, Georgia, U.S.A, Chapter, Dr. Sunny Nkemdiche, tasked the lawmakers to focus on economic prosperity of the people and physical infrastructural development of the state.

On the leadership qualities of the Speaker, the group stressed the need for increased public support to enable him effectively discharge the task of piloting the affairs of the Assembly.
