John Holt Plc has appointed Mr David Wyn-Ricketts as its new Managing Director, in what the company says it is part of the efforts to consolidate on company’s recent advances.

A graduate of Mechanical Engineering, Wyn-Ricketts served as Deputy General Manager in John Holt Motors (Kano & Lagos) between 1978 and 1983.

He later moved to Sumitomo Electric Industries (Lagos and Ibadan) where he was appointed Managing Director in 1984.

Following this early exposure, Wyn-Ricketts went on to spend a significant portion of his career leading turn-around and change management teams in the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Tanzania. Wyn-Ricketts also served as CEO of Solomon & Co Plc on the Island of St. Helena (Jamestown) where he devised, developed and implemented a 3-year plan to recover lost sales and grow market share, among other achievements.

As a Nigerian conglomerate which has been an important participant in many areas of the economy since 1897, John Holt has developed a reputation for superior product and service offerings in the areas of power generation and transmission, fire-fighting, cooling, marine transport, property development and oil & gas.

It is expected that Wyn-Ricketts will bring his wealth of experience to bear in these diverse areas.
