NNPC staff kidnapped in Rivers

Port Harcourt – A staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has been abducted in Rivers State.

Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Uguegbulam, who confirmed the development, gave the name of the kidnapped staff as Monday Uebari.

He said he was taken hostage in the early hours of yesterday at his home town, Baen, in the Ogoni part of the state.

He said: “Today (yesterday) one Augustine Okosun came to the Bori Police Station and reported that he arrived Baen village last night with his master, Mr. Monday Uebari, a staff of NNPC Benin.

“That at about 0615 hrs,  armed men entered the compound and kidnap his master.”
