GOMBE – Unknown gunmen, Sunday morning killed a Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of the Divisional Police Headquarters, Kwami Local Government Area, Gombe State, Superintendent Isiyaku  Usman.

Vanguard gathered that the DPO was on his way to Kwami Local Government Area where he was newly-posted to, when he was killed.

Sources  said the gunmen,  suspected to be armed robbers, may have trailed the DPO to Mile Three Junction in Tunfere, a suburb of  Gombe metropolis, where they killed him and fled with his car.

In a briefing, the Police Public Relations Officer, for Gombe State, Mr. Ahmed Doma, confirmed the incident, adding that the police had launched full-scale investigation to unmask the culprits.
