Fireworks expected in Kenyan national trials

NAIROBI, (AFP) – The Kenyan national athletics championships, trials for the world athletics championships in South Korea, get underway at the Nyayo National stadium on Thursday.

Field events finals will be contested on the first day of the competition with a few semi-finals on the track including the men’s 5,000 metres.

The Kenyan trials are usually one of the most competitive events in the world, and a few surprises are expected during the three-day event.

Athletics Kenya (AK) have invited sprinters from Seychelles and Uganda to spice up the competition.
