*As Oyo Police parade father, son, others

IBADAN – A farmer, Sunday Adeleye, discovered two Police AK 47 rifles while making ridges on his farm at Aaga Village area of Oyo State, even as the Oyo State Police Command arrested several suspects including a man and his son for various offenses, such as car snatching.
The serial numbers of the rifles which have magazines containing 58 rounds of ammunition are 535653 and 3604188.
State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Adisa Bolanta while parading some of the suspects who yesterday said the father and son were arrested at Mikky spot, Randa area of Ogbomoso.
The names of the suspects were given as David Olatubosun and his son, Abiodun.
A Toyota Camry car with number plate CV 756 MUS believed to have recently been snatched at gun point in Lagos was allegedly recovered from them.
He said, having tracked down the car, his command swung into action and the efforts yielded additional results as the police discovered another eight different vehicles at Iyalode’s compound of the town.
The numbers of the vehicles recovered in the house of the suspects are CE 434 KSF, a Nissan Jeep, CF 256 RSH, Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla marked EM 562 ABJ, Honda Accord AJ 681 LRN, Toyota Corolla BV 848 APP, an unregistered CRV Real time jeep, a Toyota Sienna Bus BK 259 KUJ and Honda Jeep CRV DD 201 LSD.
The Commissioner said investigation had commenced into the recovered rifles on the farmland to know how they got there.
