PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, youths Edo North, have called on Senator Yisah Braimoh to wait for the outcome of the case he instituted at a Federal High Court in Abuja against Senator Domingo Obende representing Edo North and stop media attacks on Obende and others.

Under the umbrella of PDP Youths Vanguard in Edo North, the group accused the former senator of activities capable of  intimidating judiciary to submission.

In a statement by the Secretary General, Mallam Alasa Imoudu, the group said, “Recently, we noticed with dismay, the approach being employed by Alhaji Yisah Braimoh, to attempt to tarnish the image of an Edo North Senator on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria.

“While thanking him for his peaceful conduct after the election and for accepting defeat since Domingo also accepted defeat when he was defeated in 2007, we are surprised that he had engaged in media war against the Edo North Senator after instituting a suit against the Senator in a competent Court of jurisdiction.

“During his Senate, we the PDP youths, did not benefit from Yisah Braimoh but we are shocked that he is spending huge amounts of money on media propaganda to tarnish the image of a senator popularly elected.”

Domingo didn’t play dirty politics when Yisah defeated him at the primaries, rather, he retired into his political cocoon to re-strategize.

“Where was he when the SSS screened him during the 2007 election? Those funds he is spending should be used for other developmental projects. Whatever he is doing now is to tarnish the image of Edo North and not Domingo and we shall not hesitate to drag him to the Court of public opinion in Auchi Town Hall to reprimand him.

“He should wait for the decision of the competent court if he is so sure of the facts he presented before the court. For us, the Domingo we know is the one who attended all the schools he claimed to have attended. We think these issues would have been meaningful if they were canvassed when he contested in the PDP as an intra party issue and not now that it is more of political persecution and witch-hunt.

“We are not interested in the media war but on the dividends of democracy. The deliverables of representation are the germane issues before an average Edo North man. Since we have tried Yisah Braimoh and he could not offer the deliverables, he should please let us have a fresh breath of air by assisting Senator Domingo to deliver.

“We are saddened at the recent approach to this issue. Edo North is the issue here not Domingo or Yisah Braimoh. Whatever aspersion he casts on Domingo also ridicules Edo North in the eyes of the public. Therefore, we urge Yisah to remain calm while awaiting the determination of the substantive suit and not making judgments on the pages of the Newspapers.
