BENIN—Oba Erediauwa of Benin Kingdom has commended Governors Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State and Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State for the fast pace of development in their respective states.
Speaking while receiving governors of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, who paid him a courtesy visit after their one-day retreat in Benin City, weekend, the Oba told Governor Oshiomhole “you will come back and complete unfinished projects.”
The Oba said: “Edo State Governor and all your colleagues, are welcome. We are all praying for Oshiomhole to come back in 2012. I and my chiefs say you will come back and complete unfinished projects.
“Lagos Governor, I saw what you had done in Lagos. When I was in Lagos, I used to pass through Oshodi to Ibadan. Do you know how many hours I spent there? I saw how you had changed it. We are in rainy season. But it won’t stop you (Oshiomhole) from finishing the roads, especially Airport Road. Thank you.”
Earlier, Governor Fashola, who spoke on behalf of the ACN governors, said they were at the palace to pay homage to the royal father and thank him for his support for the administration of Oshiomhole.
Other ACN chieftains who visited the palace were Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State; Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State; Mrs. Grace Laoye-Tomori, Deputy Governor of Osun State; Senator Chris Ngige, Chief Audu Ogbeh and Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
