Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State, weekend, said his administration was ready to sign a Memorandum of Under-standing, MoU, with the Federal Government if it would take over the running and management of Akwa Ibom Interna-tional Airport.

Governor Akpabio, who spoke when the Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Ogiemwonyi, paid him a courtesy visit at Governor’s Lodge, Uyo, said the state government was ready to sign MoU if the Federal Government would take over the airport.

He said: “Ï will be glad if the Federal Government wants to take over the airport, and I’ll be ready to sign an MoU with Federal Government.”

Mrs Ogiemwonyi said they were on a facility tour of the state to study and understand the inventory of the ministry.
