The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, ACCA, the global body for professional accountants, in partnership with Summit Consulting Group, has announced plans to introduce on-line examinations.

To this end, Summit Consulting, a leader in the computer-based testing industry with a core focus on innovative technology solutions, said it would deliver all ACCA examinations online through an innovative eAssessment programme.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of ACCA, Helen Brand, said the body was founded on distinct core values, one of which was innovation.

She explained that the on-demand examination platform, which the body has adopted, was borne out of extensive discussions with employers and students who preferred flexibility in the timing of ACCA exams, stressing that migration to the e-examination platform would be beneficial to employers and students around the world as online delivery platform would give them greater choice and access.

“This new development with Summit is the next step in our journey. As we develop our new eAssessment model, ACCA will be able to test students’ knowledge and skills in a way which more accurately reflects real-life workplace scenarios and activities.

“Employers have told us that this is what they want for the future. Also, feedback has shown that employers and students want greater flexibility and options of when our globally-recognised qualifications can be taken – and not just twice a year as is the case now.”

Explaining ACCA’s decision to migrate to the on-line examination platform, the Country Manager, ACCA Nigeria, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ademola, said it was in line with the body’s resolve to be innovative and ensure flexibility for those willing to attain the membership status, without lowering the standard.

She assured that the Nigerian office would always be open to entertain enquiries to Nigerians who are willing to take ACCA exams to fully understand the flexibilities and advantages of the on-line examination.
