Trailer crushes trader in Lagos

BY Emmanuel Elebeke

LAGOS— Tears flowed, yesterday, at the popular Cele Bus Stop when a middle-aged man, simply identified by close associates as Man Koko, was crushed to death by a trailer.

An eyewitness said the incident occurred at about 1:00pm when the deceased was attempting to cross the  busy express road.

The eyewitness said the deceased, who was married with children,  was, until his death, a trader at the bust stop and lived at the NNPC area of Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos.

All efforts to get the members of his immediate family to comment on the death failed, but those who spoke to Vanguard, on condition of anonymity, said that the deceased hailed from Osusu in Isiala Ngwa North Local government Area of Abia State.

Meanwhile, the trailer driver  was said to have fled the scene after knocking the deceased down, even as the mangled body of the deceased has been deposited in mortuary at the Isolo General Hospital.
