N8m at stake at Gulder 5-Aside

Season 2 of the Gulder 5 Aside Football competition begins on July 19 with matches to be held at 7 different locations across the country.

Organisers announced yesterday in Lagos that the Ahmadu Bello stadium Kaduna will host matches in the Northern Zone, Abuja Playing ground, FCT will host teams from the Central zone while Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt hosts teams from the South.

In the East, Rangers Training pitch in Enugu will play host to teams from the zone, Warri Township Stadium will host teams from mid-west, Ijebu Ode Stadium takes care of the West while the National Institute for Sports Gymnasium will host teams in Lagos.

Two teams will qualify from each zone for the national final in Lagos.

Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries, Yusuf Ageni said at a per-competition press briefing Tuesday that the champions will take home a whopping N5 million, runners up will earn N2 million while the third placed team will get N1 million.

NFF deputy secretary, technical, Emmanuel Ikpeme and Olympic team coach, Austin Eguavoen were also at the event.
