Jonathan tasked on 35% appointment pledge to women

Sokoto – President Goodluck Jonathan has been urged to fulfill his promise to give 35 per cent of government appointments  to women.

Hajiya Luba Hassan, PDP Woman Secretary in Gagi Ward in Sokoto South Local Government Area, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), yesterday, in Sokoto that it was time for the President to match his words with action.

“Women sacrificed their time, resources and energy to ensure the President’s victory in the just-concluded general elections,” she said.
She explained that history had shown that Nigerian women had never been wanting in any assignment given to them.

She urged the President “to assign the ministries of Education, Power, Petroleum, Health and the Federal Capital Territory to women and see wonders.”
