Jonathan needs boldness to tackle crises – ADC

BY Dotun Ibiwoye
The Chairman of  African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Ralph Nwosu, has said  President Goodluck Jonathan needed boldness to send any public officer, elected or appointed, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He made this disclosure,  yesterday, in a chat with Vanguard, in reaction to last Thursday’s bomb blast at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.

Nwosu  stated that Nigerians should not expect changes to come easily, as  some powerful cabals in the country, who benefit from the crises, did  not want change.

He said: “Mr. President’s  character and integrity aptly fits. He needs boldness to send any public officer, elected or appointed, to EFCC and to jail.

“We also need special courts to prosecute corruption cases within three months.

“In Nigeria where some of these people are powerful, we should not expect the change to come easily.”
However the President should remain focused and undeterred. The statusquo, business as usual cannot support transformation, it will only derail it or just get us back to square one.”

He added further: “The spate of bomb blasts across the country should not distract the President form his transformation agenda. People, especially the ones who are benefiting from the statusquo, resist change.”
