By Akpokona Omafuiare

WARRI – A Pan Okpe socio-political group, Okpe for Change, has called on the Delta State government and the Okpe people to consider their kindred in the three federal wards of Aghalokpe for both elective positions and political appointments, insisting that it was the turn of Aghalokpe to produce the next Chairman of the local government area.

In a statement  by Mr  Victor Dadakpoye and Kingsley Omamuromu, the group noted that since the inception of the current democratic dispensation in the state, Aghalokpe has not benefited from any form of democratic dividends in terms of empowerment through elective or appointive positions.

According to the group, “since 1999–2011, in terms of appointments, commissionership slots were given to Mereje, and recently to Ugolo axis, three Special Advisers also during the period went to Ugolo, but we got nothing.”
