Auto crash: Group partners FERMA

ABUJA –  Worried by the spate of road accident in the country, the Nigeria Road Safety Partnership, NSRSP, has concluded arrangement to collaborate with the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, to reduce the rate of deaths and injuries from road crashes in the country.

Besides, the Managing Director of FERMA, Engr. Kabiru Abdullahi, has threatened to sanction contractors handling its maintenance contracts across the country for failing  to meet the specification and standards set by the agency.

To this end, Engr. Abdullahi assured that the agency would pay more attention to supervision and monitoring of jobs executed by the agency and sanction erring staff who failed to be meticulous in the supervision of contracts awarded by FERMA.

The NRSP leader, Mr. Obi Iloanusi, who led other executive members to the interactive session with FERMA, expressed concern over the high rate of road accidents in the country, which had killed several people and destroyed property worth billions of naira.
