‘Critics can’t distract Ajimobi’

Governor Abiola Ajimobi will not allow himself to be distracted by needless comments by critics, according to his senior special assistant (public communication), Festus Adedayo.

Adedayo spoke in response to a piece entitled, ‘Don’t turn Ibadan to Oyo State’.

The governor’s aide said, “It is becoming more apparent now, on a daily basis, that those who designed this post-office role for Mr. Dotun Oyelade merely want him to be an unnecessary distraction to a government that is preoccupied with serious art of governance. Otherwise, this apparent fictionalization of government business does not warrant an answer

“But for the benefit of doubt, Oyo State government has left the realm of nepotism and favouritism that it was, before now. Governor Abiola Ajimobi works late into the wee hours of the night, on a daily basis, at the Governor’s Office and the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, trying to provide a solid foundation for a government business that had been run aground for four years by the Adebayo Alao-Akala government.

The era of nepotism, when ‘Ogbomosho’ qualified anyone, no matter their pedigree, for anything in government, is over”
