Sequel to the release of the remains of the nine corps members, who lost their lives in the post-election mayhem in the North to their families, founder of Sword of Life Ministries, Dr. Francis Oke, has called on the Federal Government to ensure that perpetrators of the recent post-election violence are punished.
Backing the call for the quizzing of the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), over the attack of innocent Nigerians over the election, Oke said Nigerian politicians suffer from what he termed ‘Bad Loser’s Syndrome,’ which he noted was responsible for the violent reactions that trailed the announcement of President Goodluck Jonathan as the winner of the April 16, presidential poll.
In his statement in Lagos, Oke, who also is the Bishop of Christ Life Churches Worldwide, said the security agencies should identify everyone who had a hand in the violence. He stressed that such needless blood-letting will continue until the masterminds and the executors are appropriately punished.
He said that some politicians capitalise on the poverty and ignorance among millions of Nigerian youths, especially in the North, to engage them for violent acts, which he said must be put to a stop.
He said: “They (the attackers) are potential tools in the hands of evil men, and the government should take them out of the hands of these evil men. Government should take them off the streets, set them up in business and get them employment.”
