THE Eagles of Nigeria today defeated their Liberian counterpart by a lone gone in the opening match of the 2nd West African Football Union Nations Cup which kicked off in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The goal was scored in the 21st minute of the first half by Ekigho Ehiosun who alongside Okoro Osadebamwe, Ibenegbu Batholomew and Okoronkwo Stanley tormented the Liberians for the better part of the match.
Watched by a half filled crowd at the MKO Abiola stadium, the match would have been won by the Eagles with a higher goal margin but for the loss of tactical discipline especially in the second half.
The development brought Coach of the side, Samson Siasia to the touchline shout instructions to the players about their positional play.
