Siasia cannot manage Eagles – Orumen

BY JACOB AJOM
Football critic, Dudu Orumen has said he was not surprised by Eagles chief coach, Samson Siasia after dropping  West Brom forward, Osaze Odemwinge from the national team ahead of the June 1 international friendly against Argentina and the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia on June 5.

Orumen who was at the TBS Cricket Oval Saturday said he had always maintained that no Nigerian coach, not the least, coach Samson Siasia was capable of managing the national football team.

“I still maintain that position. Siasia is too small and we Africans(Nigerians in particular) do not respect small people. This has already become evident; under how many months?”

Orumen said the presence of Siasia’s Dutch assistant, Simon Kalika does not help matters, “because he is not a full fledged white Dutchman. The players won’t regard him like they would if he were white. Aside that, Siasia lacks the maturity to handle the national team,” Orumen reasoned.

The sports critic also picked holes in the list of invited players for the two matches. Speaking on the invitation of Isaac Promise, Orumen said, “Siasia has started using the national team to rehabilitate his 2005 World Youth championship and 2008 Olympic players at the expense of Nigeria’s best players. On current form how can you drop a player like Osaze and have a place for a player like Isaac Promise..?”
