A police corporal and a civilian were recently shot dead by rampaging robbers, in Iganmu area of Lagos. The robbers who were in their

operational car, a Honda Accord saloon, were reportedly fleeing from a robbery scene foiled by a team of policemen from Iganmu area.

However, on approaching Berger under bridge, Iganmu, they reportedly opened fire on sighting two policemen, apparently thinking they had laid ambush.

The bullet reportedly hit the policemen identified as Corporal Benjamin Odigie and Corporal Demas and a civilian passer-by. Not done, the dare-devil robbers further made away with their AK 47 riffles with twenty rounds of 7.62mm calibre ammuniton.

The injured were reportedly rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Yaba, where unfortunately, Corporal Benjamin and the civilian died.
