NPP chieftain lauds Jonathan’s victory at polls

CHAIRMAN of the New Patriotic Party of Ghana, Nigeria chapter, Mr. Atiemo Gyan, has described the recent elections in the country as impressive, adding that President Goodluck Jonathan made history by changing the face of electioneering process in the country.

Gyan who spoke during an interactive session with newsmen in Lagos said the process was similar to those in Ghana and Sierra Leone which incidentally were also English speaking African countries.

He told newsmen that the sit tight syndrome of African leaders can only be addressed by strengthening the democratic institutions with proper enforcement by the African Union.

On the ongoing crisis in some African countries, he said there was need for the formation of the African High Command by the AU with the sole aim of using such military body to intervene and resolve crisis in the continent.
