Stakeholders in the Nigerian built sector comprising builders, consultants, operators of mortgage finance institutions and other related companies are set to embark on a capacity building training programme to the United States of America.
The training which is being facilitated by Niche PR, will be held at the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in Washington DC and will run from June 27 to July 1, 2001.
A statement from the organisers of the trip noted that it will enable participants learn how Americans are building and the current global challenges facing the housing industry as well as how to secure international funds for housing and ways to remain in business.
The training will also deal with land and site development planning and business management for building professionals.
The statement added that one of the high points of the training is the visit by participants to the World Bank Headquarters in Washington to have sessions on ways of accessing funds for real estate development, mortgage financing, housing production financing and housing finance system regulation. This will give participants the opportunity to network and also meet with other stakeholders in the industry.
The training is a certified programme which can enhance career development, and the statement also added that considering the benefits attached to the NAHB membership, arrangements are being made so that participants may have the opportunity to register as NAHB members.
NAHB is a trade association founded in 1942, aimed at enhancing the climate for housing and the building industry. Its training programmes bring together experts and professionals in the building industry to share latest technologies and trends in the building industry.
