Calabar-Cross River State Government has signed a contract agreement for the construction of 474 kilometres of rural roads, valued at N20.325 billion, under the Cross River Rural Access and Mobility Project, CRRAMP.
The rural road projects, which cut across 16 of the 18 local government areas of the state. will cover 28 communities.
The African Development Bank, AfDB, is expected to contribute N7.016 billion constituting 34.5 percent of the cost while the Cross River State government will contribute N13.308 billion or 65.48 percent of the total sum.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Governor Liyel Imoke said the projects represented a major step in the administration’s desire to serve the people, ensure economic growth and creation of wealth.
