Ministerial nominations: Ondo PDP submits three lists

By DAYO JOHNSON,  AKURE

THE crisis triggered in the Ondo State chapter of the PDP has worsened as three separate lists of ministerial nominees have now been forwarded to the National Secretariat of the party by PDP factions in the state.

One of the factions is led by the suspended former governor of the state Dr. Olusegun Agagu, a second faction is headed by former Finance Commissioner, Chief Tayo Alasoadura and a third faction led by Senator Gbenga Ogunniya.

The Agagu faction is banking on the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo while the Alasoadura faction has joined forces with the Defence Minister.

Meanwhile, aggrieved members of the party has appointed Nigeria’s ambassador to Australia, Professor Olu Agbi as interim Chairman of the party to replace the sacked state Executive Committee.

The nine man interim committee is to direct the affairs of the party pending its congress in June this year.

The aggrieved party leaders had on Tuesday suspended former governor Olusegun Agagu and dissolved the Dr. Dairo led state Executive Committee.

Meanwhile, the immediate past Secretary to the State Government SSG, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke who belongs to the Alasoadura faction confirmed that the group had sent its own list to the president since all party members worked for the emergence of Jonathan as President.

Kekemeke said “the list sent by Dairo is for Dairo’s PDP while other party members that were not accommodated would be accommodated in the group’s list.

“Although the group does not have a parallel exco, the list would be forwarded and signed by the Committee of former Party Chairmen and Secretaries and the Committee of former Federal Political Office Holders, all who are in the group and have been shut out by the “Agagu/Dairo’s PDP”
