BIRNIN KEBBI-The Kebbi Government has concluded plans to recruit 1,200 additional teachers for its senior and junior secondary schools, the Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Sani Rukubalo, has said.
The new teachers would bring the total number of those recruited in the last four years to 1,700.
Rukubalo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi, Monday that science teachers would, however, be accorded priority.
He said that preference would be accorded holders of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and university graduates, adding that a committee that would interview the applicants had already been inaugurated.
According to the commissioner, emphasis will be accorded to teachers who were trained on methodology of teaching. He said that in the last four years, 100 additional secondary schools had been constructed to promote education and encourage rural dwellers to enrol their children.
