comedy competition, Joker at Terra. Held at foremost cultural centre, Terra Kulture last Saturday, the show kicked off amidst fun fare.

As the eight comedy acts filed out to justify their desire to go home with the prize, the excited expectancy from the audience reached an effervescent pitch. Following the initial performance, the acts were pruned down to four contestants. It was no easy task for the remaining four as they were made to randomly selected a topic to do justice to.

Though they each, in their own way, tried to keep the audience going with rib-cracking laughter. One punch line after the other, the upcoming acts put up their best to endear themselves to the bubbly audience because at the end of the day, they decide who falls and who stands.

This month’s comedy show did not go down without the usual music, dance and audience participation promised by the organizers. Intermittently, upcoming music acts came up to add a music flavor to the show.

From the four contestants came two, Kolo Man and Aboki. The final task for the night demanded the contestants to deal jokes in plain and simple English language. Aboki, a graduate from Delta State University was the first to have a go at the finals. Ironically, it was Kolo Man who claims to have only a primary education that stole the show and won the hearts of the hard-to-please audience.

On hand to cheer the upcoming acts and to welcome the winner into their fold were established entertainers including Bovi, Seyilaw, Yaw of Wazobia FM, MC Erem, Ushbebe and Portia Yamahan. Though Ali Baba could not make the show as promised by the organizers, AY, just fresh from organizing the AY Live was on hand to hold forte for him.

Having successfully organized a third episode, the management of Peekaboo Global Consulting, the outfit responsible for putting the show together say that they are not resting on their oars in ensuring audience satisfaction.
