LAGOS — The Secretary of Akwa Ibom State professional group, the Community Ambassadors, Mr. Mbuiotidem Affia, has urged Akwa Ibom State students not to shirk in their support for the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr. Godswill Akpabio.
Mbuiotidem said this during the visit of the National Association of Akwa Ibom Students, NAKIS, Lagos Chapter, to his office in Lagos.
The students were there to say thank you to the Community Ambassador’s scribe for sponsoring them to Akwa Ibom to participate in the election.
While responding to the students’ suggestion that he should be part of the new government in Akwa Ibom, he said it was not his first time of doing something for the state.
“During my undergraduate days at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, we organised ourselves (students), registered with school authority as the National Union of South-South students. I was the pioneer president.
”During our convention at the University of Port Harcourt, I was elected the National President, and a new name was adopted, the Union of Niger Delta Students,UNDS. We joined forces with the Niger Delta leaders to campaign for selection of a Nigerian president from the Niger Delta extraction,” Mbuiotidem told the visiting students.
”The fruit of the struggle,” according to him, ”is the emergence a Nigerian president of a South-South extraction.”
