WARRI-DELTA State government has promised to immortalize late Mr. Elliot Adowei, a National Youth Service Corps member in Bauchi State who lost his life in the wake of the post-election violence in the Northern part of the country.
Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the state governor, in his tribute at the funeral service for the late Elliot at Aladja, assured his family, friends and well wishers that his death would not be in vain, adding that the state government would do everything to ensure that his name was immortalized.
Uduaghan, who was represented by his deputy, Prof Amos Utuama (SAN), urged the family and people of the state to take solace in the fact that Elliot died in the course of national service to his fatherland.
He said the entire nation would always remember with appreciation Mr. Adowei’s contribution to the growth of her democracy, noting that the whole people had come to mourn the passage of a hero, who died in active service to his fatherland.
