Ex-international Okey Isima has urged Nigerians not to see the Super Eagles and Argentina match as a do- or-die affair, but a way of building the team.
He said that for a long time the country has not had a good team, and that playing against Argentina will serve as a test for Samson Siasia especially on his technical and tactical ability as a coach.
“There is nothing at stake on the forthcoming International friendly, as we all know. Argentina is one of the strongest team we have in the world. They have a good team, better than us and therefore I don’t see the game as a must win for Nigeria.
I don’t see Nigerian beating Argentina or revenging. Our main concern should be on the well being of the team,” Isima said
Meanwhile the head coach of the Argentina team, Sergio Bastista, during the week announced a relatively young squad for the International friendly that will take place on June 1 at the Abuja National Stadium
While big names like Lionel Messi, Gonazalo Higuain, Angel Dimaria, Fernardo Gago and Carlos Tevez will be missing, they still have the likes of Nicolas Otamendi (FC Porto), Emiliano Insua Pabio Zabaleta to wow the Abuja crowd.
