While fire service men were battling to contain the inferno at Ijasha-tedo, about fifty shanties at kingsway road, Ikoyi were also on fire. The fire, which cause was not known, reportedly started in one of the shanties. Although there were no casualties, reports said the fear- stricken residents ran in different directions for safety with some of them managing to salvage thier belongings.

Man slumps at hotel

Police have started investigation into the discovery of the lifeless body of a man recently, inside a hotel room in Langbansa area of Ajah. The deceased, Paul Nwaorgwu, reportedly checked into the hotel at about 12 noon. But he was reportedly found in a still position at about 1.30pm by one of the room attendants. He was subsequently rushed to Udeco hospital where he was confirmed dead. His remains, as gathered , was deposited at the Ikoyi Military mortuary .
