Western Delta University, WDU, Oghara, Delta State, has attained a 100 percent accreditation status for its academic programmes by the National Universities Commission, NUC.

WDU in a statement said, “in June 2010, we presented for the first time, a number of our programmes to a team of seasoned and distinguished professors and scholars in various fields of academic endeavour from the NUC, Abuja, to assess and evaluate our programmes in line with the statutory mandate of the Commission.

“After a thorough and exhaustive assessment of all the programmes presented, the university was adjudged to have met the required standards for accreditation of her programmes by the Commission.

“All the programmes presented were accredited for the school approved by the Federal Executive Council only in May 2007, meaning that we are now placed on the same pedestal with our older counterparts,” the statement added.
