Lagos – The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, NACCIMA, says it is embarking on some initiatives that will boost international trade.
President of NACCIMA, Dr Herbert Ajayi, told journalists in Lagos yesterday that these initiatives would also assist the Federal Government in its bid to achieve the Vision 20:2020.
He said some of the initiatives included the hosting of NACCIMA D-8 Business Council and the Sixth Business Forum and Exhibition of D-8 scheduled for Abuja in July.
He said the trade exhibition would create opportunities to brain storm on topical issues bordering on economic development.
According to him, some economic indicators like the states of the infrastructure, agriculture, manufacturing, education and health are among issues to be discussed at the forum.
Ajayi said the formation of this multilateral business council was the first of its kind since the inception of D-8 Chambers of Commerce in 2003.
The NACCIMA chief lauded the steps taken by President Goodluck Jonathan towards opening of multilateral economic windows for Nigeria with other countries.
He said the development was vital to achieving Vision 20:2020.
