Minister faults State Assemly election result

 BY  VINCENT UJUMADU

AWKA-MINISTER of Women Affairs, Mrs. Josephine Anenih, yesterday faulted the declaration of the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Awka 11 state constituency, insisting that the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area was taken away.

PDP has already protested the result of the area and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to correct the anomaly and declare PDP winner.

The candidate for the election in the area, Mr. Mike Akubude, who urged INEC to cancel the election in the constituency, said discrepancies were noticed in many wards in the constituency, adding that the voting pattern in some areas showed that the election was massively rigged.

He said: “At Umuawulu, the INEC and APGA officials drove away our agents and had a field day thumb printing and they almost turned violent when my agents confronted them.
