Jonathan votes, says Nigeria will not be deterred by anti social elements

Otuoke – President Jonathan has casted his vote, today, in the rescheduled National Assembly elections at Otazi playing ground polling unit in his country home, Otuoke, in Bayelsa.

He was said to have voted at 12:33pm at the polling centre.

Earlier, after his accreditation, Jonathan has said that the activities of some anti-social elements `causing chaos and throwing bombs’ would not daunt Nigeria from conducting free, fair and credible elections.

Jonathan stated this while speaking to journalists after he was accredited for the National Assembly elections at Otazi playing ground polling unit in his country home, Otuoke, in Bayelsa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports the President’s wife, Patience, and his mother, Ayi, performed the exercise along with him.

“There are some anti-social elements that want to derail the process of voting but they will not succeed; definitely we will conduct our elections,” he said.
Jonathan sympathised with the families of the victims of Friday’s bomb attack on INEC office in Suleja Niger State,

NAN reports that INEC officials arrived in the President’s polling unit at Otuabula, Ogbia LGA at about 9.10 am while accreditation started at 9.20.

Jonathan and his family members were accredited at about 9.30 a.m by INEC team led by the Presiding Officer, Miss Lyncia Ike Mbonu
