Harrysong rocks in Warri

Singer, Songwriter and multi – instrumentalist Harrysong launches his recently released album in his hometown in Warri, Delta state.

On the 3rd of April, a release party for the new CD titled Testify took place in Lagos, and it was attended by star artistes and colleagues like Sammie Okposo, Sound Sultan, Retta, KC Presh, Tuface, Banky W, M.I., Retta, amongst others.

The Warri launch is billed to take place at Warri on the 24th of April (Easter Sunday) at Club 19 Lounge and Harrysong would be performing tracks off the new album with guest appearances by A- list star artistes and support performances from Questionmark All star – Ego and D’Supremes, Orezi, Oritse Femi and others.

The 14 tracker Testify CD has music for every age bracket, mood and as the title suggest with enough excitement and inspiration where Harrysong showcases his varying and still distinct sounds of the artiste with very personal songs.

Born Harrison Tare Okiri, Harrysong spent the last year 2010 recording his album in addition to serving as vocal coach to several acts including actress cum singer Omotola Jalade and ended the year with a mini tour across Southern Nigeria where he performed at several gigs; the Calabar Carnival after he composed and performed the theme song for the Nigeria Music Video Awards with fellow label mate D’Supremes and Justina.s on the Nigerian polity.

CodRead makes a mark

CodRead, a Nigerian model based in South Africa who made his debuts with a single featuring Buffalo Souljah, follows up his effort with a collaborative track with Terry G.

Born in Lagos CodRead left Nigeria in 2005 to pursue a modelling career in South Africa.
He had started to make music earlier, in 1999 under the pseudonym Boldman and then as part of a group known as Beat Block Boys.

Nominated at the last Nigeria Music Video Awards for his video ‘Patricia’ ft Buffalo Souljah, he is signed to 107 Records.

Known by his fans as ‘Hotter than fire’, CodRead has performed in Johannesburg, Namibia and many other African countries alongside Africa’s best – Jozi, MXO, HHP, Lira, Naeto C, Teargas, Sasha, liquid dip, Buffalo Souljah, Proverb, Jah Seed and Taygrin.

His music is a fusion of Jamaican reggae/dance-hall and afro-pop. After his collaboration with Buffalo Souljah in South Africa, He returned home to record a track with Terry G titled ‘Go Crazy’.

His new single is titled ‘Konko’ and  Maye Hunta, who produced the track. The track enjoys a Afro-beat feel reminiscence and a genre created by late legendary musician/activist, Fela Kuti.
