LAGOS – PRELATE of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Sunday Ola Makinde and Catholic Archdiocesan Director of Social Communications, Rev. Monsignor Gabriel Osu, yesterday, urged Nigerians to turn out en masse and vote for candidates of their choice considering the importance of the outcome of the election to the collective destiny of the country.

The Methodist prelate said in statement made available to Vanguard by the church’s Media and Public Relations Officer, Rev. Oladapo Daramola: “It is pertinent to note, however, that we should not only come out to vote, but there is the need for us to defend our votes and ensure it counts. Nigerians must vote for only candidates who have performed well while in office and those who are credible and have integrity.”

On his part, Monsignor Osu wondered why the nation was yet to be told the identity of the vendor who had thrown the nation into such ridicule before the entire world. He said:  “We have moved in circles for too long for us to be treated as robots in 2011 while the rest of the world is moving on.”
