THE five ethnic groups of Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw, Isoko and Ukwani yesterday endorsed Dr. Goodluck Jonathan for the
April 16 presidential polls saying that this will enable him continue with the transformation he promised Nigerians.
They also assured President Jonathan of their unflinching support, assuring that “our people will turn out en masse
to vote for our dear president so as to ensure his victory at the polls.”
Addressing newsmen at his country home in Adagbrasa, Ugolo in Okpe council area of Delta State, the
President-General of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Maj.-Gen Patrick Aziza (rtd) stated that the people have
implicit confidence in Jonathan’s ability and integrity to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
While commending INEC for the conduct of the peaceful National Assembly polls, he however expressed regret over
cases of gross electoral malpractices reported at various places in the state.
