Daniel and PPN betrayed Jonathan – PDP

By  Kolade Larewaju

ABEOKUTA – THE  Chairman of the Goodluck Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organization in Ogun State; Elder Joju Fadairo yesterday accused Governor Olugbenga Daniel and the Peoples Party of Nigeria [PPN] of treachery by betraying President Jonathan during  Saturday’s Presidential Election.

Elder Fadairo who spoke to newsmen in Abeokuta said  that despite assurances by Daniel and PPN that they would vote for Jonathan , the party has evidence to prove that PPN did not only worked against the President but voted against him in the election.

He said “a PPN member confided in me that Governor Daniel told them [PPN members] that they should either stay at home on the Election Day or alternatively vote for the ACN. it is therefore fraudulent for any PPN member to say that they voted for Jonathan.

But the PPN Publicity Secretary; Mr. Raheem Ajayi dismissed the allegation describing it as “unfounded, unreasonable and a statement that could only come from a failed politician”. He insisted that without the PPN support, Jonathan could not have won the election.

He stressed that PDP cannot win any election on its own and cited the National Assembly election in which all prominent PDP candidates; Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello and Speaker Dimeji Bankole lost “woefully”

Fadairo, the former Chairman of the PDP  also said that  intelligence reports available to the organization indicated that some politician have hatched a plot to cause violence during the Governorship election on Tuesday and warned those involved to bury their plans because the security agents would not allow any thuggery.

He dispelled allegations by Governor Daniel to the effect that himself [Daniel] delivered the state to Jonathan describing it as total falsehood saying “this is an attempt on their part to confuse the electorate because of their unpopularity and fear of losing in the gubernatorial elections. This is an attempt to confuse the electorate because of their [PPN] unpopularity and fear of losing the forthcoming election”
