Following her debut into the Nigerian music industry some years back, the ‘larger than life’ singer, Big Ma, has upgraded, forming a live band of her own. And in the same vein preparing for the release of her next video.
According to her, the band called Serenity is made up of her as the lead vocalist and eight others.
Exclusively speaking with Showtime through a telephone chat about what she’s presently up to, she said ‘right now, I’m the lead vocalist of a live band called Serenity. They go with me to anywhere I need to perform and we’ve been having a nice time rehearsing and at outings. We’re nine in number and our first outing was during Encomium’s white and Black cocktail recently held in Lagos.’
She also revealed that she’s working on her new video titled Lost. According to her, the video is about someone who lacks companionship and is lonely.
And when asked whether the song stemmed from a personal experience, she said, ‘Yes. It came from experience which happened to me sometime ago.’
The song Lost is produced by Ibukun Kafaru, to be released next month.
Big Ma was the winner of the talent hunt organized by Tunde and Wunmi Obe two years ago, in remembrance of Stella Damasus’s late husband, Jaiye Aboderin.
